Nintendo Wii con Wii Balance Board – la recensione
La Nintendo Wii è una piattaforma di gioco arrivata in Italia agli inizi del 2007 che ha riscosso tantissimo successo, proprio perché differente dal resto delle console.
La sua dote migliore nasce dall’uso di un telecomando che, via bluetooth, si interfaccia alle applicazioni prodotte e permette così di giocare a “mani libere”. Il motivo per cui trova spazio tra le pagine del nostro approfondimento, prettamente dedicato alle biotecnologie e a tutto ciò che gira intorno al concetto di Salute, è lo sbarco nel nostro mercato della Wii Fit, un’ulteriore rivoluzione in questo campo.
Seppur il concetto di pedana di forza sia cosa ormai nota (e che trova largo impiego anche nei settori della bioingegneria del movimento), renderla commerciale e utilizzabile da tutti è stata una scommessa che -secondo le prime stime- sta avendo enorme successo.
La pedana Nintendo Wii Fit permette di giocare, tramite apposito software dato in dotazione, facendo operazioni che tramutano il tempo libero in esercizio fisico: dallo step allo yoga, fino ad applicazioni più ludiche come lo snowboard e l’hula hoop, tutte basate sul concetto di equilibro e di movimento. Attraverso un’interfaccia completamente guidata, ogni movimento (e chiaramente ogni errore) vi verrà segnalato e corretto, portandovi così a ritrovare la forma (o mantenerla), ma anche a rilassarvi e farvi svagare qualche ora.
Una cosa molto interessante per tutti, soprattutto in questo particolare periodo dell’anno, è la possibilità di unire al solo divertimento giochi per fare sport e quindi dimagrire.
Abbiamo calcolato che ripetendo 3 volte il gioco denominato “Step Dance” per un totale di 30 minuti di allenamento (fatto seguendo con convinzione la guida virtuale), una persona di peso medio (circa 70 kg) e alta 170 cm ha un consumo calorico medio di poco meno di 300 calorie, l’equivalente di una fetta di crostata alla frutta da 80g.

Ecco le caratteristiche tecniche nel dettaglio riportate direttamente dal sito ufficiale della Nintendo:
Comandi intuitivi per chiunque grazie al telecomando Wii sensibile ai movimenti che somiglia a un telecomando per la TV. Fino a quattro telecomandi Wii possono essere collegati tramite la tecnologia wireless Bluetooth. Il segnale wireless può essere intercettato entro 10 metri dalla console. Sia il telecomando Wii che l’unità Nunchuk includono dei sensori di movimento a tre assi. Il telecomando Wii comprende inoltre un altoparlante, il rumble, una presa collegamento esterno e può essere usato per puntare verso lo schermo da una distanza massima di 5 metri. Il telecomando Wii ha un pulsante d’accensione, una pulsantiera di comando +, pulsanti A, B, -, Home, 1 e 2. L’unità Nunchuk include un Control Stick e i pulsanti C e Z.
Un design compatto che si accompagnerà alla perfezione con qualsiasi schermo TV. La console Wii può essere posizionata verticalmente o orizzontalmente.
I supporti vengono inseriti in un alloggiamento per dischi ottici a singolo o doppio strato da 12 cm per la console Wii e dischi da 8 cm per Nintendo GameCube.
La console Wii può comunicare con Internet anche quando è spenta. Il servizio WiiConnect24 consegna una sorpresa o un aggiornamento su un gioco anche se non si sta giocando con la console Wii. Gli utenti possono collegarsi senza cavi in una rete domestica wireless che supporti lo standard 802.11b/g, o con un adattatore LAN per Wii. La console Wii può inoltre comunicare senza cavi con Nintendo DS.
La console Wii permetterà di scaricare i titoli preferiti dai fan degli ultimi 20 anni della storia di Nintendo, fra cui giochi per Nintendo 64, Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) e persino Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). La Virtual Console proporrà inoltre una selezione di “best of” di titoli Sega Genesis e per la console TurboGrafx (un sistema sviluppato congiuntamente da NEC e Hudson). Ospiterà inoltre nuovi giochi di sviluppatori indipendenti e creativi.
Caratteristiche tecniche:
- Il quantitativo di memoria flash della console Wii sarà di 512MB, due porte USB 2.0 ed un modulo wireless integrato. La possibilità di espandere la memoria flash interna è garantita dalla presenza di uno slot scheda SD. Il design è stato ottimizzato da processi tecnologici all’avanguardia che garantiscono dimensioni compatte, minimizzano il consumo energetico e consentono l’utilizzo della console in modalità WiiConnect24.
- PowerPC CPU (nome in codice “Broadway”). Realizzato con processo produttivo 90 nm SOI CMOS, sviluppato e prodotto in collaborazione con IBM.
- Scheda grafica sviluppata da ATI.
- Altre caratteristiche:
Quattro prese per controller Nintendo GameCube. Due slot Scheda Memoria per Nintendo GameCube. Una presa AV MULTI OUT per segnali component, composito o S-video.

JUNEAU, Alaska – Sarah Palin is lashing out at the portrayal of a character with Down syndrome on the Fox animated comedy “Family Guy.”
In a Facebook posting headlined “Fox Hollywood — What a Disappointment,” the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee and current Fox News contributor said Sunday night’s episode felt like “another kick in the gut.” Palin’s youngest son, Trig, has Down syndrome.
The episode features the character Chris falling for a girl with Down syndrome. On a date, he asks what her parents do.
She replies: “My dad’s an accountant, and my mom is the former governor of Alaska.”
Palin resigned as Alaska governor last summer.
Palin’s oldest daughter, Bristol, also was quoted on her mother’s Facebook page, calling the show’s writers “heartless jerks.”
“When you’re the son or daughter of a public figure, you have to develop thick skin. My siblings and I all have that, but insults directed at our youngest brother hurt too much for us to remain silent,” she is quoted as saying.
“If the writers of a particularly pathetic cartoon show thought they were being clever in mocking my brother and my family yesterday, they failed,” Bristol Palin added in the Monday posting. “All they proved is that they’re heartless jerks.”
Palin wrote that she’d asked her daughter what she thought of the show and Bristol’s reply was “a much more restrained and gracious statement than I want to make about an issue that begs the question: When is enough enough?”
This isn’t the first time Palin has spoken out over an attack, real or perceived, on her family. Last year, she condemned a joke David Letterman made about her daughter, for which he later apologized.
A “Family Guy” publicist didn’t immediately return an e-mail seeking comment.

Начну с того, что один раз купить кухню задумал мой глубоко “уважаемый” сосед, с которым мы живём рядом. Спустя некоторое время, мне перепала возможность абсолютно случайно зайти к нему домой в гости. То, что я увидел, меня удивило – такой кухни в москве я никогда не видел. Всё как по рецепту доктора – красивая, комфортная, со вкусом. Как и полагается, я давай расспрашивать у соседа о том, где он взял такую прелесть. Однако же, его ЭГОистическое чувство жадности и зависти , которые видел каждый, кто хоть раз с ним общался, перекрывали все его хорошие стороны. В конечном итоге, я так и не смог узнать, где продаётся такая удобная кухня. Безответными оказались мои уговоры, намёки на соседскую дружбу и типичную человеческую рассудимость, на то, что давно живём по соседству – молчит проклятый. Его ответ был действительно оригинальным: хочу чтобы ни у кого другого точно такого же не было. Сцуко конь, неужели он уверен в том, что один с таким кухонным набором индивидуум?
Я сам никогда не бы завистливым. Мы с супругой уже ни раз планировали разыскать мебель для кухни, вот только всё никак не могли подыскать ничего подходящего. Думаю, многие люди меня поймут – ведь не только у меня такие напряги с площадью квартиры. Особо повернуться в нашей кухне нельзя. А кроме этого, хочется ещё, чтобы кухня была красивой , стильной , функциональной и уютной . Я своей супруге намекнул, что был у соседа нашего и видел там отличную кухню, но он зараза молчит и не желает говорить, где приобрел.
Но вот когда-то, я увидел фотку в нэте, где была такая же кухня, как и у моего соседа. Обрадовался я конкретно. Я тут же хватаю мобилу, звоню, спрашиваю – это тут изготавливают кухни на заказ? Через пара недель нашу обновочку привезли к нам. Собрали, установили. Зову соседа-педа. Он едва не взорвался от обуявшей завести. Его лицо наполнило нечто. Похоже, он малость обиделся, помолчал и удалился.
”Холодная” война между нами не прекращается до сих пор, хоть с тех пор прошло уже много времени. И главное из-за чего война? Из-за кухни, капец. При этом – война такая односторонняя. У меня к нему вообще нет предъяв, а он меня, едва только увидит, так уничтожить готов. Я даже машину свою под его окнами не оставляю, а то он частенько бывает неадекватен, а мне мазда моя дорога.
Я уже новую кухню в настоящий момент присматриваю. Вот и не знаю – не дай Бог мы снова одинаковые купим – будет капец всему подъезду, потому что выходя на площадку в одно время и заметив друг друга, мы будем устраивать гладиаторские бои. Захотелось новый набор заказать, но вот где? Сижу вот теперь, мозг насилую. Главное, чтобы у этого чудилы не оказалось такой же.
